Pothar Nat Mela started in Sorbhog

GUWAHATI: The second edition of ‘Pothar Nat Mela’, a two-day drama festival began from Saturday at Sorbhog in Barpeta district. The unique drama festival has been organised at a paddy field adopting a nature-friendly approach. The venue has been dedicated in the name of noted artiste and litterateur Gokul Pathak.

Artistes from different parts of Assam will enact several plays at this festival.

“The response from the audience on the first day was immense. Groups from various parts of the state have taken part in this festival. We are grateful to all of them for their support,” said Dhrubaraj Pathak, secretary of the organising committee.

Along with dramatic performances, various events including traditional games and sports have also been organised at ‘Pothar Nat Mela
