Bongaigaon,25th July : Bongaigaon Municipality has inaugurated a series of development scheme to the people of Bongaigaon Town by Phani Bhusan Choudhury,MLA of Bongaigaon LAC and Dr. M.S.Lakshmipriya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon in presence of officers of Bongaigaon Municipality Board.Both of them inaugurated the Chilaray Bazar Complex, North Bongaigaon Bazar Complex and Commercial complex over Bongaigaon Municipality Building.
The Griha Prabesh samaroh and Xilanyas programme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) have also been done by the dignitaries.
Two new modern toilets located near Chilaray Fly over and AOC Road near Hariram Maheswari School were also inaugurated. It is expected that both the modern toilets will serve to the long standing requiremnt of public toilet in the city specially for women.
A new mechanism of “Home-Composting” under Solid waste Management programme of Bongaigaon Municipality has been introduced at ward number 4 by the Bongaigaon Municipality Board on 25th July 21. The programme intends to create manure from kitchen waste at household level and for the reason the aparatus of home composting has been distributed to every household of ward no 4, with the help of SHG members of National Urban Livelihood Mission (U) of Bongaigaon Municipality. The manure will be collected by Bongaigaon Municipality later on. The Executive Officer Bongaigaon Municipality, briefed that if the project becomes successful, the ward number 4 will be declared as wet-waste free zone and the project will be extended to other parts of the city. Three numbers of vehicle also flagged off with an aim of full coverage of household waste collection in the town.
Bongaigaon Municipality has introduced online trade license system for hassel free trade license application which was also inaugurated by the dignitaries.
