Former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi's Health Condition is Critical : Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: The health condition of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has deteriorated and he is still in a critical condition and on full ventilator support, said Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Gogoi is admitted at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

To enquire about the health condition of the veteran leader Dr. Sarma visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) last night where the former CM is being treated.

Speaking to the media Dr. Sarma said, “The former CM is in a critical condition. He is still breathing in 100% ventilation support. His kidneys were not functioning at all so he was given 6 hours of Dialysis today. He was also given 2 bottles of blood. He will be again given Dialysis in the morning itself. Because of this six-hour dialysis, a lot of toxic elements could be taken out of his body. We can say this is a positive sign. We are continuously in touch with the doctors of AIIMS.”
