DC Bongaigaon Inaugurated "Fruits & Medicinal Plant Garden" in Bongaigaon Civil Hospital Premises


BONGAIGAON: Deputy Commissioner Bongaigaon Dr. M.S.Lakshmi Priya inaugurated a garden composite of fruits and medicinal plants in the premises of Bongaigaon Civil Hospital and participated in the plantation of saplings arranged by D.F.O, Aie Valley Forest Division, Bongaigaon om 11 December, Friday.

The place where the plantation has been done was earlier a dumping ground of Bongaigaon Civil Hospital and with the germination of ideas from DC Bongaigaon, the dumping ground has been transformed into a beautiful herbal garden  of fruits and medicinal plants through a convergence scheme by Bongaigaon Zila Parishad and Forest department under MGNREGA at a cost of Rs. 2.75 lacs. 


Zilla Parishad will bear the cost of first one year incurred for taking care of these plants and then the responsibility will be handed over to District Health Society. Speaking on the event DC Bongaigaon made strong appeal to all to "Grow with Democracy". As like the plants meant to grow to serve the purpose of purifying our environment and giving us a carbon free atmosphere where we can breathe in fresh oxygen and to add other comforts to the lives on earth, same services we as responsible citizen are also meant to serve our country by saving the pride of a healthy democracy being a participant of the noble cause of nation building through casting votes and performing other duties properly. 

Further she requested all to post pictures with innovative ideas under the theme 'Grow with Democracy' on FB and tag DC Bongaigaon. The inauguration programme of the garden or plantation was attended by, CEO Zila Parishad, ADC Pankaj Chamuah, C.O. Bongaigaon Dipan Barman, DFO Aie Valley RF, concerned officers from District Health society and so on
