Inter-Ministerial Central Team visits Bongaigaon and Chirang district for assessment of flood damage today


Bongaigaon, 19 Oct.: An Inter-Ministerial Central Team headed by Manish Tiwari,IAS, Joint Secretary( JKL),MHA,New Delhi visits Bongaigaon district today.Other two members of the Central Team were Rupak Das Talukdar,Deputy Secretary,Ministry of Finance and Sumit Goel ,Deputy Director, Ministry of Power.The Team visits the Sidalsati to Mererchar Embankment alongwith Right Bank of river Aie at Huramara pt.1under Srijangram Revenue Circle, Bongaigaon.In addition with this the team visits the site of damaged Sidalsati to Borghola PWD Road, damaged crop area and house damage of Huramara pt.1. Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon accompanied the team. Pankaj Chamuah, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer,DDMA,Bongaigaon,Ananta Samanta, District Project Officer, , Bongaigaon,District Agriculture Officer, Executive Engineer, PWD, Road, Officers of APDCL etc. were also present at the time of field visit.The Team visited flood damage of Chirang district also for assessment.  

        After field visit a meeting was also held at conference hall of Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer( Civil), Bijni.Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS,Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon, Narendra Shah,IAS,Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, ADCs,Circle Officers,other officers of various departments of Bongaigaon and Chirang were present in the meeting.

        Presentation of various situations relating to flood,rescue operation,relief distributions,relief camps,temporary shelter,flood affected crop areas,road damage,other infrastructure damages,house damage,restoration works etc.were done of both Bongaigaon and Chirang districts.Manish Tiwari,the Joint Secretary,( JKL),MHA New Delhi,the Team Leader praises the steps taken by both the districts aspecially the Vetivers roots Technology taken by District Disaster Management Authority, Bongaigaon.
